DOGE Surges
Dogecoin ($DOGE) surged on Tuesday, 12/14/2021 contradicting the current overall weakness in crypto markets.
The rise in value was spurred by Tesla CEO Elon Musk who plugged Doge on Tuesday morning, tweeting that “Tesla will make some merch buyable with Doge & see how it goes.” Musk sent the tweet at 5:34 a.m. Eastern time, triggering a near-instant surge in the token, which was up 20% in afternoon trading to $0.1913.
It’s hard to have faith in a crypto that is so dependent on celebrity support. For those who hold $DOGE, what do you think would happen if Musk ever denounced the project?
